Dear readers,

The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace is just around the corner, marked each year on April 6. However, how can sport for development move forward if it is lacking strong governance?

And how important is it to invest only in organisations that adhere to human rights principles? The Commonwealth, in the lead-up to April 6, is organising their annual debate on this topic.

One of the most important things for strengthening the sector is also that we make sport safer and more accessible for women - we wrap up Women’s History Month by looking at instances where sportswomen challenged gender discrimination in sport.

Also included in this newsletter are an article recapping the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics, a French article on the repercussions of the sanctions against Russia for the future of sport, a call for applications for projects in sport and social business, and an upcoming event on gender justice through sport
