Who's spinning records this weekend?
|
|
Friday (25.03) - DJ team Pater João play salsa and Latin rhythms, funky grooves and all that boogie. Tidily selected from the 60s on through the modern era. 19:00 - 22:00.
Saturday (26.03) - The viciously handsome DJ Stean cartwheels through the door and behind the decks, breaking stacks of boards in a demonstration of kung-fu prowess, playing only the finest hip-hop, jazz and funk in the Rhein Valley. 19:00 - 22:00.

New beers from Stigbergets & Garage
|
|
Three new beers grace our craft beer fridge this week, sourced from Garage Beer Co. in Barcelona and Stigbergets in Gothenberg, Sweden.
Soup IPA is a favorite and cans are disappearing quickly. But don't sleep on Garage's west coast brew, Trails, which is an excellent counterpoint to Soup's New England style. And if you're about the west coast, Stigbergets' From a Dry Camel is the bomb-ass tree.

Lights! Camera! Cocktails!

The Hour
"When evening quickens in the street, comes a pause in the day's occupation that is known as the cocktail hour. It marks the lifeward turn. The heart wakens from coma and its dyspnea ends. Its strengthening pulse is to cross over into campground, to believe that the world has not been altogether lost or, if lost, then not altogether in vain."
- Bernard DeVoto (The Hour, 1951)

Resist boredom: Keep Karlsruhe Boring
|
|
Like the most natural of human tendencies, tell someone they can't do something and they immediately want to do it. So, it stands to reason that this should work in the reverse as well. Keep Karlsruhe Boring has been adopted by the Volkstheater Karlsruhe as an experimental project that will showcase Karlsruhe public spaces as the venue for your creativity: theater, acting, performance, dance, music, you name it. If you have an idea for something that can be a part of this project, register at volkstheater@staatstheater.karlsruhe.de.
Rehearsals: March-June
Premiere: June 18th
Shows: June & July
