World Book Night
World Book Night book list
World Book Night is all about celebrating stories and the joy of reading. Put aside an hour from 7 - 8pm on 23 April  to read alone, read with your children or listen to an audiobook.#ReadingHour.  You can also get involved by signing up for the fabulous online live streamed event from The British Library exploring 'The Stories That Shape Us' with The Reading Agency Ambassador, Bobby Seagull, and authors Ayisha Malik, Dr Alex George, Lemn Sissay and Dreda Say Mitchell, For more information click here.

Shakespeare's Birthday
Book Covers, Hamlet, Macbeth, Tales from Shakespeare and Romeo & Juliet
Celebrate Shakespeare's birthday on 23rd April by reading one of his plays. If you find Shakespeare difficult to access why not try a graphic novel version or an adapted version for children instead.

The role of the BIPC is to support individuals and entrepreneurs to start and grow their own business. It can be found on the 2nd floor of Oxford County Library and is open Monday to Friday, with Saturday bookings available upon request.

Is your child  feeling anxious about recent news events? Try to encourage children to keep reading. Familiar activities are comforting, and we all love a good story to keep our optimism going.  These lovely books, all available from the library service, may help you and your child talk about their anxiety and find a way to cope with their feelings.

Local & Community History Month
In May we celebrate  Local & Community History Month and this year we are looking at royal visits in Oxfordshire.

We'll be sharing some royal memories on our Facebook and Twitter pages in the build-up to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.

Library Anniversaries
Grove and Headington Library have been busy celebrating some big anniversaries.  Grove celebrated their 50th Anniversary on Monday 14th March with the theme of 'Step Back in Time' and Headington has just celebrated its 90th Anniversary on Saturday 2nd April!
