Hello,
Our office is pleased to invite you to an information session about the Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) process for fiscal year 2023 (FY23).
What is CDS? Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) is a mechanism by which members of Congress can request funding for specific projects in their home state that have been submitted for consideration by state and local government entities and nonprofits. Funding for projects, if approved, would be distributed as part of the federal appropriations process during FY23 (October 2022 - September 2023).
What does an eligible project look like? Projects must be shovel ready, clearly budgeted, self-sustaining, beneficial to the broader community, and administered by a government or nonprofit entity. Funding is limited and an application does not guarantee funding. Attached you will find a one-page FAQ document that explains the process in a bit more depth.
When will these information sessions take place? Our office has scheduled five hour-long virtual information sessions, organized by region. These conversations will be an opportunity to learn more about the process, hear best practices, ask general questions, and connect with your regional representative to follow up for more specific feedback. If you are unable to join at your region’s scheduled time, please feel free to join a different call.
