Thanks so much to GoPuff for featuring me during Women’s History Month on their blog with this awesome Q&A! I’m so proud to be a part of GoPuff’s “Put Me On,” a small business accelerator program designed to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses. The team and I learned so much about branding, merchandising, and e-commerce over the past six months. It was so great to connect with our friends at GoPuff and with my fellow “Put Me On” classmates to celebrate our graduation together at SXSW last week!
Me & the Bees Buzzing Around at SXSW
One of the many reasons we love our hometown is that it’s home to SXSW, the annual film, interactive, and music festival that brings in thousands of talented people from around the globe. I’ve been fortunate enough to share my story at this conference in the past. And this year, it was exhilarating to be back at this conference in person as we got to connect with old friends like Mr. Daymond John and make new friends like Mr. Borget Sebastian of The Sandbox. Here’s a quick snapshot of our SXSW 2022 experience…it was so wonderful to see it back in full force!
Busy Bees Pollinating Our Black Cherry Trees

Did you know that 90% of flowering plants require assistance for pollination which comes primarily from native insect pollinators such as bees? The more bees we can attract to the garden in early spring the better. For us in Austin, Texas…this starts as early as March. Wherever your garden is located, there are a few common characteristics to look for when choosing plants to use as pollinator attractors:
Use local native plants because they are four times more attractive to native bees'
Plant flowers in clumps as they will attract more bees than individual flowers
Plant flowers with different shapes to attract a variety of species of bees different tongue lengths
Among the plants that need early-season pollination in the U.S. are fruit trees, including the gorgeous black cherry trees that produce the fruit for our awesome new Me & the Bees Black Cherry Lemonade!

As we continue to expand and grow, it’s an honor to have Market District pick up and feature our product in Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The upscale market kicked off the debut of our lemonades during Black History Month with beautiful displays spotlighting the lemonades and as well as products of other black-owned businesses. We hope Market District customers quickly become “bee-lievers” and help us continue our quest to help save the bees and propel us upward to become ‘America’s favorite lemonade.
