Dear Colleague,
I just wanted to share with you this reminder that the Future of Nursing 2020-2030 Report: Charting a Path to Achieve Health Equity outlined clear evidence between health disparities and inequities and the social determinants of health (SDH). Moreover, the report issued directives for nursing education to rapidly evolve to prepare nurses to advance health equity by addressing the SDH.
I am inviting you to consider the NLN/Walden University College of Nursing Institute for Social Determinants of Health and Social Change Leadership Academy for your faculty as well as other nursing administrators. The application deadline is coming up fast so don't miss out.
The Leadership Academy is a year-long program for a cohort of competitively selected nurse educators and other inter-professional colleagues to develop the leadership competencies to:
1. Competently and confidently integrate the SDH and social change into programs and curricula
2. Engage in research and other scholarly activities with broad dissemination
The deadline for applications is April 30 at 5 p.m. Eastern time. More information about the Leadership Academy and application process is available online.
If you have questions, please contact me, Sandra Davis, deputy director, at sdavis@nln.org.
I appreciate your significant contributions in nursing education and for ensuring that graduates are prepared to provide safe and quality health care to patients and families.
Sincerely,
Sandra Davis, PhD, DPM, ACNP-BC, FAANP
Deputy Director, NLN/Walden University College of Nursing Institute for Social Determinants of Health and Social Change
