I have come that they may have life and have it more Abundantly - John 10:10
The word translated Abundantly is the Greek word perissos- The direct English translation is: exceeding the usual amount or size; abundant, extravagant. Jesus' mission was to give more than just life. It was to exceed our own expectations for life.
Jesus came to demonstrate the heart of God, on a planet overrun by sin and the brokenness it brings, to beings that have lived in this polluted atmosphere for so long that it all seems just fine. We are no more aware of sin than a fish is aware of water. We are the proverbial frog in the kettle, swimming in the source of our own demise while the temperature slowly rises.
To us sin and its expressions are normal. However, when Jesus knelt in the Garden of Gethsemane knowing that the sin of mankind was about to descend upon Him – He sweat great drops of blood - because He was aware that it would separate Him from the His Father. Only under extreme stress does the human body do that. Jesus, who knew no sin became sin for us, the thought of it nearly destroyed Him. On the cross the reality of it finally did!
We are so comfortable and well-adapted that the primary things we must overcome when we are called to follow God are our attachments to our world.
We have also fully adjusted to scarcity, so much that our entire world is organized around it. Therefore, when Jesus brought news of a better life, He declared that He was trying to deliver abundance. The kind of abundance that causes us to change the way we measure, life, time, wealth, and contentment. The kind of life that finds its greatest fulfillment in sharing our own abundance. He offers a life that leaves us counting our blessings instead of coveting that of our neighbors.
It is our belief in this message that has set the Gracepoint church on a mission to live and teach this simple truth. We believe that aligning your life with God’s revealed will in the Bible will give you the best possible life, an abundant life, on our broken little planet. And offer eternity in the end.
Abundant Blessings,
Walt

We were absolutely awe-struck by the hundreds and hundreds of encouraging messages for our staff that were submitted. It was such a blessing to read through them and pass them along to those of us at ADRA that are on the ground in and around Ukraine right now serving during this humanitarian crisis.
Today marks one month since the crisis in Ukraine began. As you can imagine, serving during a war crisis can be a difficult experience for everyone involved, and impacts us spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Your words of encouragement and support have inspired us to know that we are not alone during this time. We have been overwhelmed by the support of our global community. The power of love cannot be overstated. Here are just a few messages we received last week:
This is but a tiny sliver of the cascade of support we received. We cannot thank you enough. Urgent donations to ADRA’s emergency response fund are still needed as well if you are in a position to make a contribution.
As attacks escalate in the Ukraine, we want to report to you the status of our work with the Ukrainian people. As we write this, we hear on the evening news just now that the civilians are suffering massive attacks in several cities. Families are leaving their homes and heading north to Poland north and to the west of Ukraine. They are now refugees in their own country. This happened before in ...
