New research by the eSafety Commissioner found that 1 in 3 women surveyed experienced online abuse in a work context. Many avoided leadership positions and lowered their public profiles because of online abuse.

Like the 2016 NSSS, the latest survey found that gender and sexuality diverse students, as well as young women, were among those most likely to have experienced sexual harassment or assault in an Australian university setting.
