Hello again members, I trust our first Newsletter of the new season finds you well as we power towards the start of activities in September for Lifesaving and October for Nippers.

Change to South Maroubra SLSC Inc Regulations

The Board received a regulation change recommendation from the Clubs Constitution Committee in June 2022. The change is to align with SLSA Policies and SLSNSW requirements.

Change name of Grievance Officer to Complaint Manager/s
Remove 4.2.4.b and replace with new wording

Regulation Document Currently reads as follows:
Regulations 4.2.4

4.2.4 Grievance Officer
a. A Grievance Officer can be appointed by the Board as and when required.
b. Direct responsibility to the Club President

Suggested new wording:
Regulation 4.2.4

4.2.4 Complaints Manager
a. A Complaints Manager/s can be appointed by the Board as and when required.
b. Complaints Manager/s shall act in accordance with SLSA Policies and Procedures as amended from time to time.

The BOM endorsed this recommendation to the South Maroubra SLSC Inc Regulations and updated version of the document can be found on the Club website at the following link.

Club Annual Reports 1959 to present day
The Club has undertaken to have all the Clubs Annual Reports scanned as PDF searchable documents. We will be uploading these all to the Club website in coming weeks. This accessibility of our history allows for the membership to read and review at your leisure.

As advised to the membership in July, South Maroubra will be participating in the 24HR Row again this season, a chance for our community to come together to row and raise funds for mental fitness.

IRB State and Australian Titles
Our IRB team competed in the 2022 Sharkskin NSW IRB State Championships in South West Rocks and then at 2022 National and Interstate IRB Championships at Mollymook

South Maroubra SLSC will be updating its beach vehicle later this year, and are offering its members and friends the opportunity to purchase the current SSV prior to advertising it on the open market.
