UWSP team wins college national title

A huge congratulations to our very own University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point team of Kayla Guenther, Jayda Harris, Meghan Taylor, Sawyer Cadwell, and Jackson Armstrong for defeating the University of Pennsylvania, 13-2, to win the 2022 USA Curling College National Championship title on March 13 at the Fargo-Moorhead Curling Club in Fargo, N.D. The team went undefeated in the 16-team competition of the country's elite college teams.

Volunteers needed for upcoming events

Our club will be hosting two more events to close out the 2021-2022 season. In just a few days we will be welcoming teams for the 2022 Mixed Bonspiel with a fun Caddyshack theme planned. Kitchen and bar help is still needed so please be sure to check out the volunteer board at the club this week to sign up to lend a hand.

Next month our club is proud to host the 2022 USA Curling Junior National Championships. A big event like this is a great time to show off our new club but takes a lot of volunteer help to pull off a great event that participants will always remember.

Help is needed in a variety of areas, including ticket sales, timing games, kitchen help, and more. Please check out the volunteer sign up to learn more. The competition will take place April 23-30. Thank you to all who are helping to plan this event.

Join the Board of Directors

We are currently accepting nominations for three open positions on our Board of Directors. If you are interested in running for election, please submit a short biography about yourself to the Board that includes why you would be a good fit for a spot on the Board. Nominations need to be submitted by April 1. Voting will take place online when the slate of candidates is set. Look for updates on this as the date draws nearer.

Annual meeting and dinner April 9

A friendly reminder that reverse raffle tickets should be turned in by April 1. Winners will be drawn during our season-ending gathering on April 9. The drawing will begin promptly at 3 p.m. followed by a steak dinner at 5 p.m. Cost is $15 per person. Look for the sign-up sheet hanging at the club to indicate your interest. The annual meeting and election will follow at 7 p.m.

League chairs are encouraged to send names of the winning teams of their leagues to be announced in an upcoming edition. Photos encouraged!
