SIL-PNG Conference

This week we have been busy attending SIL-PNG's (our organization) bi-annual business meeting, which we call "Conference".  It is six full days of sharing stories, hearing sermons, and getting reports from all our translators from across PNG.  We also use this time to have a pseudo-"town hall".  The mission center where we live (called Ukarumpa) is a place where many people and other families live.  So, we all come together and discuss the governing handbook and sometimes update it. 

Audio Bibles were talked about by another department who distributes them (I just make them).  The photo above comes from the slideshow of the manager of the "Highlands Audio Project".   He showed three photos of people whom he has seen in the village with Audio Bibles in hand.  The one in the middle, he was told, was 18 years old and still working.  These devices are very durable.  Important for the highlands and jungles of PNG. 

Another interesting slide is shown below. It shows how many Audio Bibles they distributed in 2020 and 2021.  Very cool!
