Gruezi mitenand / bonjour / ciao / bun di

I am sure we are all glad that the cooler weather of autumn is bringing relief from the heat we had throughout February. Given it is the Nyoongar season of Bunuru (second summer), it is no surprise that early March was still hot.
We can certainly feel lucky in WA to have been spared from the severe weather events that the people in the Eastern States had to deal with. The geopolitical issues in Eastern Europe add to the unease that a lot of people are currently feeling and we all hope that it can be resolved peacefully.
Just as it was with the initial uncertainties around Covid-19, community organisations play a vital role in keeping people connected and creating the ability for people to share their anxieties and find strength and solace. This is why, as a committee, we want the Swiss Club of WA to continue being there to organise get togethers and foster friendships for Swiss expats and their partners in Western Australia.

On a very positive note of course, with the open borders, we can finally reunite with loved ones again. We hope that you all manage to connect with people that mean a lot to you.

The committee has planned a few events for the year, some have already been locked in. Hopefully we will see many of you at these typically Swiss celebrations.

Easter Picnic

The traditional Easter picnic is held on Easter Sunday the 17th of April on the club's property in Louisa Circle, Gidgegannup from midday onwards.

Easter is also a great opportunity for the campers to come and enjoy a long weekend on the property and pitch a tent or set up the caravan. There are toilet facilities, a shower, gas BBQ's and the shelter with tables and benches. You will love the quiet of the 25 acre bush property.

Toodyay is only a 20 minute drive away and if you have not visited their outdoor pool, you must definitely do so. Lake Leschenaultia is also only 20 minutes away and if you want to experience the freshwater of a Swiss Lake, a swim in the lake is an absolute must!

Swissinfo Survey   (external content)

Dear Swiss Abroad,
How do you inform yourself about what is happening in Switzerland? What is important to you when you consult a medium? SWI swissinfo.ch is currently conducting a major survey on the media usage of the Swiss abroad. This is because we want to better understand their information habits so that we can provide them with even better information in the future. We are interested in how you inform yourself about events in Switzerland and in the world and how you maintain contact with Switzerland or with other Swiss abroad. In order to obtain relevant information in this regard, we rely on your help. It is also an opportunity to give us direct feedback and to participate in the further development of our information offering.

We would therefore be very pleased if you would take part in our survey. You can find the survey under the following link: www.intervista.ch/swissinfo<http://www.intervista.ch/swissinfo>.

The survey is conducted by the Swiss market research institute intervista on behalf of SWI swissinfo.ch. SWI swissinfo.ch is the international online medium of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR) with ten languages.

Thank you for your valuable support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us (demi.schneider@swissinfo.ch).

Kind regards

Demi Schneider
