Message from Kol Haskalah

Dear Kol Haskalah community,

It's hard to believe that Passover is almost here - the first night is April 15th. Even harder to believe, this will be our third pandemic Pesach. Please read below for activities in the community that you might want to participate in including a joint event with Kol Hasklah and Jewish for Good!

Last year we compiled recipes from the community. Take a look at this link and get inspired to cook a holiday favorite!

We hope that you are all doing well through these trying times.

All the best,
Kol Haskalah Board of Directors

How to Celebrate Passover as a Humanist
featuring guest speaker Claire Bergen
Presented by Kol Haskalah and Jewish For Good

April 5th at 8:00pm EST on Zoom

Do you like stories and eating? Open to dipping foods in other foods, and large, square crackers? Then you are Jewish enough to celebrate Passover. This program will provide an overview of Passover customs from a cultural, Secular Humanistic Jewish perspective. We will discuss how to prepare for, host or participate in a Passover seder – and how Humanistic Jews approach celebrating Passover from a non-theistic perspective. We will explore rituals and readings that connect us to Jewish histories, cultures, and people – and to the powerful Exodus narrative that has inspired human liberation movements throughout history and today. Register Here
