Back in the Saddle

We have been back in Peru for about 2 months, and it feels like it has been much longer as we have hit the ground running. Thank you all for your continual prayer. Our family is readjusting and my health has been good. Abby has been talking about how much she loves our apartment in Peru, and the kids are excited for an Amazon Jungle mission trip we are going to take in a few months.

This return has been a bit surreal as so much has changed in the world the last two years. Our ministry is different, Peru is different, the challenges are different... but we find success is simply being faithful to the Lord and continuing to move forward. We don't deserve His goodness and favor, but we walk by faith and God continues to bless and give the increase. Thank you again for praying!

Below are some updates with lots of pictures, prayer requests, and some ways you can get involved in the ministry. Also, feel free to send an email response as we love to hear from you all

Love,
Cory and Danielle

BIG PRAYER REQEST

Today (April 6) I am taking a second look at a property in Trujillo. It would be absolutely amazing for both Calvary Trujillo and CBI Peru, and is located in a great area of Trujillo.
Please pray that God would confirm His will one way or the other if we should pursue the purchase of this property.

More info to come soon!

New Semester!

We started a new semester with a great group of students. We have 6 new students from Trujillo, Lima, Venezuela, and the Amazon Jungle. We also have students and interns from Colombia, Bolivia and America.

They love Jesus and they want to serve Him. It is really a blessing to have a hungry, on-fire group of young people studying and preparing for ministry. We had a great kick-off to the semester and the classes have been amazing!

Please pray for each of our students and interns, that they would grow in grace and the knowledge of Jesus, and that they would be thoroughly equipped for the work of the ministry!

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

1. Bring a team to Trujillo! As the world begins to open up, we have been so blessed to start to receive more teachers and people who want to serve the Lord. If you would like to bring a missions team from your church, please let us know.

2. Support CBI Peru financially. The ministry is growing and we have many needs. We are buying or need to buy: bibles, books, new bunks, beds, kitchen items, roofing materials, tables, chairs etc. The ministry is the work of many, and if you would like to help purchase materials and supplies that would go a long way in making disciples in South America

We also have a need for scholarships. A young women at our church immigrated from Venezuela a few years back and has been serving with us and taking classes when she can. About a month ago her mother tried to sell her to an older, Peruvian man so she could have money and return to Venezuela. Praise the Lord, her brothers intervened and she was not sold.

We would like to offer her a  scholarship, and are seeking the Lord's will. The cost for her is $200 per month if the Lord puts it on your heart.

3. Summer Internship. We are opening our ministry for college aged Christians who might like to come serve for 1-2 months during their summer break. Please write for more info!

Back to Church

It has been so great to be back at church!

The people are growing and the numbers are growing as well. Our kids ministry continues to have more and more children, and last Sunday we ran out of chairs for the older kids. We had almost 40 little ones!

We are planning a week of local missions in Trujillo, and will finish with an Easter celebration on Sunday the 17th. Please pray for a great harvest of souls as we hope to fill the theater, and share the message of Hope in our resurrected Lord.

We are also praying about planting a second church in Trujillo with Angel and Yeni as their home group has flourished over the last 18 months. Pray for God's guidance and provision. Thank you!

Family Retreat and Baptism

We just had an amazing family retreat and baptism. There was great fellowship and we sold 95 plates to raise money for missions.

We also baptized 7 new believers, and a young girl names Veronica was my favorite story.

Some people from church met her in the market and invited her to church. She received the Lord one Sunday, did our new believers class and got plugged into a discipleship group. She is now at church all the time and full of Joy.

This is what she posted on Facebook: "Yesterday I decided to publicly declare that I have decided to follow Christ, I am very happy for this decision 🙌❤ Thanks to Calvary Trujillo for helping me grow spiritually."

Praise God and pray for these precious new believers!

Inductive Bible Study Seminar

Last week we had Pastor Dan Finfrock of Intensive Care Ministries come and teach an Inductive Bible Study seminar for our students, our church, and people from all over Peru. We had people come from Lima, the Andes Mountains, the jungle and various other cities.

We had around 50 participate, and around 35 did the whole seminar and graduated. We had a pastor of a large church in Trujillo come, and he said it changed his entire mentality on teaching and ministry. We had several pastors attend and many young people with a hunger to study God's Word.

WE hope to do many more seminars in South America and equip the saints for the work of the ministry. I have a seminar scheduled in the Amazon Jungle for July, and another tentatively scheduled in Chile for this coming January. Thank you for praying!

PRAYER REQUESTS

It has been a busy season as we have gotten back to Peru, but we are very blessed. We feel like we are in the middle of something special, but there is much opposition.

We were planning on going to the Amazon Jungle the first week of April to do Bible training, kids ministry and more; but the pastors there cancelled due to intense rain and flooding.

Our goal is to have a church and training center in the Amazon. We are also praying about two more local church plants. Please pray!

1. Please pray for wisdom, strength, and courage.

2. Please pray tht we would abide in Christ, and that we would have a vibrant relationship with Jesus.

3.Please pray for our family as we get established again. Abby started gymnastics, and Noah wants to start basketball, It is difficult to juggle everything.

4. Pray that God would lead us regarding the new property.

5. Praise God that our permanent residency was extended in Peru for 2 more years!

6. Pray for our jungle trip and provision. If God leads we will plant a church and buy property to start a training center.

7. Pray for our church and leaders that we would have wisdom on the two local church plants.

8. Pray for a prayer group we are strating with 2 families about planting a church in Panama City, Panama.

Thank you! We so love and appreciate you guys!

In Christ,

Cory and Danielle
