We probably don't need to tell you the department is buzzing with activity. Here is what you need to know this week, including our first Wed@One of the semester!

Be sure to get your Hamlet tickets. They are available now through the Kaye Box Office. Tickets are free with a student ID.
Wed@One with The Prop Guild Next Week!
Join us for a presentation and Q&A with the founders of The Prop Guild - A Collective for Professional & Aspiring New York City Props People.

Panelists:

Rachel Kenner fell into props and has now worked as freelance prop artisan and prop master on and off Broadway for ten years. Her credits include shows at The Public, Lincoln Center Theater, New York City Center, and Second Stage. She particularly loves outdoor and immersive theatre, having worked at Sleep No More and Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 among others.

Claire M. Kavanah is a prop supervisor and artisan based in Brooklyn. She has worked primarily with the Public Theater over the last six years on productions including Eclipsed, The Gabriels, Privacy, Gently Down the Stream, Hamlet, Miss You Like Hell, Mojada and The Michaels. Claire has also worked as a prop artisan on various other projects including SpongeBob SquarePants, Hand to God and one time a Burning Man type immersive installation on a boat. Claire recently helped transfer Girl from The North Country from the Public Theater to its Broadway home. 

Alex Wylie is a freelance prop master and artisan based in Queens. He started working on props in undergrad quite by accident and hasn't looked back. His credits include shows at: The Public, MCC, Roundabout, and other theaters. He has worked on immersive shows as well as themed entertainment with RWS Entertainment Group as well. He loves woodworking, making spreadsheets, and using the word "y'all" in professional emails.

Mark your calendars for a FREE Props Workshop for Theatre Majors & Minors
Rachel, Claire and Alex will run a props workshop that is available for FREE to Hunter Theatre majors and minors a couple of weeks after the event in TH101 on Saturday, April 9th, 2022. The workshop will be an overview of the most commonly used consumable props including various paper items, blood types & uses, and breakaways.

Our Department production of Hamlet is still looking for a Costume Apprentice. Earn a required apprenticeship credit and be a part of the show!

Must be available to start on 3/28 and be available for all tech rehearsals and performances through 4/13.

Apply to the Thompson Turner Internship
Thompson Turner Productions is a Broadway general management office, currently managing the Broadway productions of The Book of Mormon and Company and the national tour of Mean Girls. We're responsible for the day-to-day management of these productions, dealing with budgets, ticketing, contracting, personnel, and more. 

The internship will take place in  TTP's Midtown Manhattan office, Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm. Positions available for full-time (40 hrs/wk) or part-time (approx. 20 hrs/wk) internships. The spring internship will begin in early June 2022 and finish in late August or early September; exact dates are flexible. Pay is $15/hr.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with video interviews expected to be scheduled in April.

About the Program:
-Season-long Apprenticeships run from September to June.
-Apprentices receive an hourly rate of $15.00 and are eligible for health benefits.
- A Cost of Living Scholarship is available to help offset the cost of housing and transportation for apprentices.
-Apprenticeships are available in the following administrative departments: Archives, Artistic, Audience Services, Development, Education, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Management, Sales & Analytics, and Special Events.

Additional opportunities for Apprentices include weekly career-building seminars, participation in the inter-department mentorship program, networking opportunities across the arts administration industry, and an invitation to participate in Roundabout identity-based affinity groups, volunteer opportunities and events.

Camp Ramah in the Berkshires, is an overnight summer camp in the New York area that serves children grades 3 – 11. They are seeking professionals and pre-professionals to join their Department of Performing Arts. Camp Ramah is seeking someone who has a passion for theater, dance, and/or music, teaching kids and being part of their camp community.
