2022 Opus Composition Festival

Calling all student composers!

IMTA teachers, do your students compose their own music, or have they expressed interest in composing? If so, please encourage them to enter the 2022 Opus Composition Festival.

The Opus Composition Festival is a competitive call for scores designed to encourage students to create and write music. Indiana Music Teachers (both IMTA members and non-members) can submit their students’ work.

The Opus Composition Festival promotes creativity and educates students in the art and craft of musical composition. The competition will be judged by a nationally recognized professional composer, who will provide written feedback to all entrants.

Winners in each category will have the opportunity to play their composition at the IMTA State Conference.

The submission deadline for 2022 festival entries is May 1, 2022.

Please refer to https://indmta.org/opus/ for the rules and detailed guidelines and feel free to contact your new Opus Composition Festival Chair, Dr. Michael Seregow, at mpseregow@bsu.edu with any questions.
