Courageous Imagination: Living into the Journey
"What is the kingdom of God like? And to what should I compare it? It is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in their garden; it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches"
- Luke 13:18-21.

Friday Evening:
Becoming a Global Church

with Jeanette Hanson,
Director Mennonite Church Canada International Witness

Building relationships is central to the work we do together as Mennonite Church Canada International Witness. We live and work with each other across the broad categories of race, ethnicity, language and politics. Through this work both our Canadian congregations and our international sisters and brothers receive the gift of a rich understanding of the diversity of the Body of Christ. We see God through the eyes of the other, experience God’s gifts together and spread the hope and healing of God’s love to the world.

Saturday:
Courageous Imagination:

Listening for God Together as We Build a Shared Story
with Leah Reesor-Keller,
MCEC Executive Minister

Over this past year, we have been on a journey listening for God as we build a shared story about who we are and who God is calling us to become. Each conversation whether in-person or online was filled with hopefulness and deep insight. Leah will lead us through this past year's journey which has brought us to our gathering to prayerfully receive and consider updated MCEC identity and priority statements. Where is God at work doing new things? What seeds are sprouting around us?

Listen Again or Listen For the First Time...

Episode Four: Who are we together? What is the Church that we are becoming?
with guests Kim Penner and Jack Suderman

Listen again or listen for the first time. On this episode of Courageous Imagination Mollee and Leah invite Kim from Stirling Avenue church and Jack from First Mennonite church for a conversation around unity, history and diversity in MCEC. We ask each other who do we want to become and what holds us together?

Courageous Imagination has been a journey of listening for God.  At this year's Annual Church Gathering we will prayerfully receive and consider updated identity and purpose statements building on the feedback from the Courageous Imagination journey.
