Succession Planning update

Part two of the Lasting Leadership guide is now available to download as a free, interactive, shareable PDF. Get yours below and share it wide!
When we started researching sustainable leadership, one thing quickly became clear. Everyone we spoke to had been affected by the sudden loss or departure of a leader. It's a case of when you need to plan for succession, not if.

Your organisation and its work are bigger than any one person. Succession is inevitable and best done before it’s needed. It's everyone's business, so make it part of an organisational approach to capacity building and development. Our free guide shows how, with:
Clear definitions and principles.
Practical ideas from real life.
Knowledge management explained - what it is, why it matters.
The succession planning templates you always needed but no-one ever gave you.
Knowledge audit template - ensuring skills for survival and sustainability.
The guide is dedicated to Ian Findlay, who generously shared his own learning about succession planning for us to share with others. Just this week a new fund has been announced to sustain Ian's legacy of championing active travel.

As a Lasting Difference Symbol holder, Dyslexia Scotland knows its work and impact belong to people far beyond the small staff team. So, as well as supporting people and communities directly, a core strand in the strategy is to empower and build the capacity of wider 'changemakers' - volunteers, parents, ambassadors, networks, employers, philanthropists, decision makers etc. Anyone who can help connect with and make a lasting difference to the lives of people with dyslexia has a place on the journey.
Review the strategy for yourself: all three formats are available for download from Dyslexia Scotland's website.
