Lilo and Stitch tell us: "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten."
This saying reminds me of a wonderful game that is talked about in the book Everything I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. The game is called Sardines, which is like hide-and-seek, but when you find the person who is It, you get right into their hiding spot with them. "Pretty soon everybody is hiding together, all stacked in a small space like puppies in a pile. And pretty soon somebody giggles and somebody laughs and everybody gets found."
A place where everybody who is lost gets found sounds a lot like the ministry of Jesus. This Sunday we’ll be looking at the story in Luke 15 of the prodigal son (or is it the prodigal father, really?) on Sunday, and how Jesus found those who are lost right in the middle of all of us, right in our families, schools and workplaces. There are different ways of being lost, and God seeks all the lost ones, encouraging us back to the new life God provides.

You're invited to explore and discuss critical issues of life and faith as we attempt to continue our Matthew 25 work in the SF Presbytery. The series is about a wealthy town in Texas where issues of structural racism, diversity, local politics, and educational reform converged to foreshadow the national struggles that are being fought today, and how they affect our hopes for faith-based liberation.
