Styrax Obassia is also known as Fragrant Snowbell is a large-leaved flowering tree. It gets its common name from the 6-8 inch long racemes of fragrant white flowers that appear in late spring to early summer. The leaves appear first then the flowers emerge but can be hidden by the foliage. After flowering drupes are formed and may be present in Autumn. The bark on older specimens can experience exfoliation which reveals a showy inner layer.
