  • 71% of investors expect to make more PropTech investments over the next 12 months, up from 54% six months ago.
  • 73% of startup founders believe that it will be harder, or the same level of difficulty, to raise capital in the upcoming 12 months, up from 58% six months ago.
  • Investors expect to invest in at least 8 startups in the upcoming year, a record high for the Index.
  • 25% of startup founders expect to hire 20 or more full-time employees in the upcoming year, the highest level we have seen since the Index began in 2016.

Staffbase raises $115M at a $1.1B valuation to help internal comms teams get their message across
General Atlantic led the round with Insight Partners also participating (the pair respectively led and participated in the startup’s previous round a year ago). Staffbase will be using the funding to continue building out more integrations and functionality across its product — with a specific focus on integrating Microsoft’s full 365 suite — as well as continue expanding its business overall from its base in Chemnitz, Germany. Read More.

 Fundrise invests $128M into expansion of Saltbox’s warehouse, co-working spaces for entrepreneurs
Saltbox, a company providing co-working and warehousing space for up-and-coming e-commerce businesses, said it is working with Fundrise, a real estate investment firm, to expand nationally. Fundrise is putting $128 million into the company as part of its larger strategy to invest in well-located, last-mile logistics industrial real estate. Read More.

Snappt raises $100M to combat fraud in rental docs
Snappt, a California-based PropTech startup that helps landlords detect fraudulent rental application documents, announced raising a $100 million Series A led by Insight Partners, according to a press release. The company, which claims a 99.8% accuracy rate, says it will use the funding to accelerate product development, increase its sales and marketing efforts and expand market reach. Read More.

Online building marketplace ArchiPro raises NZ$35m to fast-track growth
Online building marketplace ArchiPro today announced the company has raised $35 million in a Series A funding round led by New York-based Tiger Global, with support from Icehouse Ventures, and Queenstown-based Liger Trading. Read More.

Diamond Age picks up $50M for the future of houses built by robots
Hot on the heels from its $8 million fundraise just a few months ago, Diamond Age is back for a top-up, with a $50 million Series A financing to continue its mission to make homeownership more affordable by using 3D printing and robotics technologies to make home construction significantly cheaper — a welcome change in a world where there’s a 7M-home shortage in the U.S. housing market. Read More.

The rebrand comes alongside $90M in equity investment raised for growth and property acquisitions. MIPIM: Investor summit tackles offices, net-zero and valuation gaps
This year’s MIPIM RE-Invest summit in Cannes, France brought together around 70 representatives of institutional investors to discuss major challenges facing real estate, including valuations, decarbonization, and the need for new talent.
