You can self-nominate or nominate other members of the branch with their permission. The deadline for nominations is April 1, 2022. Nominees will be announced on April 15, 2022. Officers will be elected at the branch meeting in May 2022.
To keep our rotation system of elected officers intact for future years (president, VP membership, and communications elected odd years; VP programs and financial officer elected even years), those normally elected in odd years will serve only a one-year term. All officers will begin serving their terms on July 1, 2022.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR VACANT OFFICES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
PRESIDENT 2022-2023. The president represents the branch in the activities of the Association at all levels and is the sole spokesperson of the branch. The president also serves as the second signatory on the branch bank account; serves as an ex-officio member of the MTFWG Board and all branch task forces and committees except the nominating committee; appoints (with the approval of the executive committee) officers to oversee essential branch business; sets the agenda for and conducts all branch and board business meetings; submits reports of the branch to national and state when requested; and submits branch records to the Albert Gore Research Center at the end of president’s tenure in office.
VICE PRESIDENT FOR PROGRAMS 2022-2024. The vice president for programs chairs the Program Committee; presides at meetings in the absence or disability of the president; submits a list of suggested programs/events for branch meetings (October, November, February, March, and April) for the board’s approval at the summer board meeting; coordinates, with the aid of the board, locations and refreshments for meetings; tracks event attendance; and performs such other duties as are requested by the president or board of directors.
VICE PRESIDENT FOR MEMBERSHIP 2022-2023. The vice president for membership chairs the Membership Committee; presides at meetings in the absence of the president and program vice president; plans and oversees recruitment of new members and renewal of members; works with the president and the financial officer to keep a current list of members; oversees recruitment and organization for the annual Murfreesboro Half Marathon staffing effort; tracks membership data; and performs such other duties as are requested by the president or board of directors.
FINANCE OFFICER 2022-2024. The financial officer Is responsible for collecting all annual dues; completes the Branch Dues Report (BDR) Form and forwards with dues to national and state by June 30 and forwards additional dues to national and state as new members join throughout the year; submits on-line “Annual Electronic Notice Filing Requirement” to IRS between July 15 and November 15; works with the president and membership VP to keep a current list of members; and performs such other duties as are requested by the president or board of directors.
COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER 2022-2023. The communications officer chairs the Communications Committee; records minutes for all meetings of the branch, board of directors, and executive committee; keeps on file complete documentation of branch business, including minutes, bylaws, and list of officers; oversees the branch website; develops the branch newsletter at the president’s request; and performs such other duties as are requested by the president or by the board of directors.
