“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”
– 2 Corinthians 5:20
Because of our sin, we need to be reconciled to God. We turned our backs on Him and walked away from Him. We are the ones that need to be reconciled to Him.
God initiated this reconciliation with us, even though He is the innocent party in our estranged relationship to Him. He accomplishes this through His grace towards us on the grounds of Christ’s perfect atoning sacrifice
You see, the Father put upon the Son all the guilt and wrath our sin deserved, and Jesus bore it in Himself perfectly, completely satisfying the justice of God for us.
This is the good news of Jesus Christ! If while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life? (Romans 5:10)
Are you reconciled with God? Do you have peace with God—perfect fellowship with Him without any enmity? You can be reconciled to God today! Simply come to Him and accept the reconciliation He offers. You can do this right now by praying a prayer like this:
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name, Amen.
