We Are One Honors on April 13
|

Join us on Wednesday, April 13 for the inaugural We Are One Honors, presented by Chris Hollins.
Chaired by Ozoemena Nnamadim and Sister Zsa Zsa Galor, and emceed by Queen Persephone, the We Are One Honors will serve as a fundraiser for our organization while honoring the significant contributions of five phenomenal community leaders: State Rep. Garnet Coleman, Linda Morales, former Caucus President Terri Richardson, renowned drag queen Kofi, and the late Congressman Mickey Leland.
The event will feature moving presentations produced by the phenomenal Harrison Homer-Guy. Secure your sponsorships and tickets now.

Join Us at the Trans Day of Visibility Rally
|

On Saturday, April 2 at 12 PM, there will be a rally at the Texas State Capitol in support of the trans community. The Caucus is looking to pay for a bus to take roughly 50 members to participate, but we need to gauge interest first.
If you are interested in traveling with The Caucus to this event, please fill out this interest form. We want to ensure there is sufficient interest prior to booking a bus to Austin. We hope you will join us and our leadership in Austin.

Accepting Questionnaires for Spring Branch ISD School Board, Special Election for House District 147, HCC Special Election

The Houston LGBTQ+ Political Caucus is accepting questionnaires for candidates who are seeking the endorsement for the following offices:
- Spring Branch ISD School Board Races
- Special Election - Texas House District 147
- Special Election - Houston Community College (HCC) Trustee District II
We will consider and endorse any candidates at our PAC meeting immediately following the April General Body meeting on April 6, 2022.
If you would like to be considered for the endorsement of the Houston LGBTQ+ Political Caucus, you will need to fill out a questionnaire and conduct a screening. The deadline to submit a questionnaire will be Friday, March 25. After you submit your questionnaire, you will receive a follow up email to schedule your screening with the Screening Committee.

Education & Advocacy Wants YOU!

The Education and Advocacy Committee is looking for five Caucus members to join co-chairs Christyna Lewis and Januari Fox in identifying, creating, and executing opportunities for engagement in 2022. The time commitment is a monthly, hour-long committee meeting, and additional time as needed for event/program planning.
If interested, please send your name, email address, and a brief description of skillsets to education@thecaucus.org. Placement on the committee is not guaranteed, but all submissions will be considered.

Last Chance to Join Candidate Screener Training

This is your last chance to join our upcoming Screener Training! If you would like to become a Candidate Screener for the Screening Committee for the Houston LGBTQ+ Political Caucus, you must attend a Candidate Screener Training. After you have completed the training, you will be certified to participate in screenings for the next year.
Our next Candidate Screener Training will be Saturday, March 26 at 1 PM via Zoom.
