The Australian Wagyu sector is the leading producer and exporter of Wagyu to international high-end markets. The annual WagyuEdge Conference and Tour to be held in Melbourne at the Pullman Albert Park is the largest conference on the beef industry calendar attracting between 400 - 600 attendees annually. 

Bringing together all components of the Wagyu sector, the conference and tour is a forum of learning and networking to help our industry build on the vision to advance Wagyu – as the World’s Luxury Beef.

A $130 early bird discount applies to full conference package registrations received and paid by Tuesday 22 March 2022, reducing the registration fee to $810 for members and $1010 for non-members.

Victorian Covid Regulations

The 2022 WagyuEdge Conference and Tour will adhere to all Victorian Government (and specific venue) covid regulations. Currently, the requirement is that you must be fully vaccinated (two doses) to enter the conference venue. Should these requirements change, we will keep all members and delegates updated.

Winding our way through the ranges of North Eastern Victoria, the post-conference tour will visit three impressive farms –  The Falls Pastoral and Stone Axe’s Cobungra Station and Yulong Investments (pictured above) and nearby wineries including Mitchelton Wines and Baileys of Glenrowan.

Mark Harris

Stanbroke Beef, Sales Manager

SESSION 1: Australia’s position in the global Wagyu sector
Originally from Sydney, Mark joined the beef industry over 15 years ago. He has been with Stanbroke Beef for over 10 years, five as Sales Manager overseeing all markets globally, prior to which managing the company’s Japan, Korea and China business.

Mark has been an integral part of Stanbroke’s growth in the Wagyu space over the last decade.

Professor/Extension Beef Specialist, Department of Animal Science, SDSU Extension, West River Research Extension Center

SESSION 3: Facing the challenges of tomorrow
Does Cow Size Matter in Cow-Calf Production Systems? Dr Olsen will discuss the influence of genetic selection on the size of beef cows, how this has increased their nutrient requirements and demand for feed resources, how it is related to their productivity, and finally how it influences their utilisation of grazing resources.
