Parish Lenten Mission: We are partnering with St Benedict Parish as a satellite location for their Lenten Parish Mission starting this Sunday evening at 7pm. Doors at Holy Trinity will open at 6:30pm and all are welcome to come and experience this mission, which will be streamed into the church, for three consecutive nights. Please bring something to write with and something to write on (a journal would be wonderful, or a phone or tablet you're comfortable taking notes on). All three nights will begin at 7pm. The theme of the mission is prayer and we will be lead by speakers Mary Maher & Eleanor Seagraves, members of Regnum Christi who work for the Archdiocese of Chicago. Please note that the mission will not be livestreamed, so registration to receive the Zoom link is required for any planning to attend online.   
 

Reopening: On Monday, March 21st Nova Scotia is moving into Phase 3 of its reopening plan. This means that all current public health restrictions regarding COVID -19 will be lifted. Many people still have concerns for their health and safety. Pastoral care, understanding, and respect for the choice by parishioners will be respected. Public Health continues to remind us to follow core measures. They include getting vaccinated, staying home if you are sick, self-isolating as per current Public Health advice, washing/sanitizing hands frequently and cleaning high-touch surfaces. Masking is also still encouraged. 

Those who are involved in ministry during Mass (or any other Sacraments) should ensure that they do not have any symptoms of the virus, e.g., cough, fever, headache, etc. If the individual shows ANY such symptoms, they must not enter the church. Parishioners are strongly encouraged to self-screen before attending church. Those who exhibit fever or any other indications of a viral infection must stay home and seek out medical attention.

Social distancing has been discontinued; however, we will continue to reserve Section E (near the music ministry) for those seeking to social distance. The chapel space will also be set aside as a backup option for social distancing if Section E has been filled.

Masks are no longer mandatory. We know that the removal of restrictions, including mandatory masks, may feel unusual, especially in the beginning. Wearing a mask is an individual choice. We welcome parishioner’s choice to wear a mask. Please respect individual choices and remember to treat one another with kindness and understanding as we all adjust. While masking is optional, Public Health recommends wearing a mask indoors. Whether staff or parishioners choose to wear a mask or not, they will be supported in their decision. 

Financial Reporting: The GIVE page on the parish website has been updated to include the parish monthly revenue totals for 2021, 2022 and the final financial report for 2021. Thanks so much to the Finance Council for their service to our parish in sharing their talents in the realm of budgets and financial stewardship. And thanks to all who support the mission of our parish with their financial contributions.

St. Joseph Pilgrimage Icon Prayer Service: On Saturday March 26th at 9:00am in the church, the Knights of Columbus (SJV and SES Councils) are inviting the parish to celebrate a Liturgy of the Word, pray the joyful mysteries of the Holy Rosary and the Litany of St. Joseph. Join in person, or online (livestream begins at 8:45am). All are welcome!
 

Chalice Collecting for the Ukraine: Chalice Canada, a Catholic Nova Scotia-based development and aid charity, has launched a disaster fund for the communities it serves in Ukraine. All donations are being matched by a generous private donor until they reach $250,000. Chalice has worked in Ukraine since 1998, and supports 4,572 children through sponsorship. Money will be transferred into the Chalice family funding bank accounts. Family funding is Chalice’s model of giving families their own bank accounts where sponsorship funds are deposited.
