A Message from MFMC President:

Dear MFMC Members,

Spring is here, and it’s time to register for the 104^th Michigan Federation of Music Clubs Annual Convention on May 19-20!

We are so excited to return to an in-person convention, and our Convention Committee has prepared a fabulous convention with exceptional professional musical talent, award-winning students, and guest speakers!

Also, if you have not submitted an advertisement for the Convention Program Booklet, you still have time! Advertisements can be for any type of business not just music related, and of course, Senior Clubs too. The deadline is April 15, and if you need an application form, you many obtain one on our MFMC Website. The income from advertisements helps to defray the convention expenses.

So, don’t miss out on this opportunity to enjoy these events and to spend quality time with our fellow Federation members and friends!

MFMC CONVENTION INFORMATION

NFMC NAMES MICHIGAN COLLEGIATE STUDENT NATIONAL FLUTE AWARD WINNER

Hunter O’Brien of Mt. Pleasant, MI is the 2022 National Federation of Music Clubs, Ernest A. Bluhm Flute Award winner. O'Brien is a student at Rice University, Houston, TX.

Repertoire Requirements include:

- First movement of a sonata or sonatina by Bach, Handel, Hindemith, Piston, Poulenc or Dutilleux.
- One selection: Griffes Poem, Hanson Serenade or Kennan Night Soliloquy.
- One composition by a published American composer.
