Why We Do What We Do
  
Mission Statement:
Florida Swim School teaches the life-saving skill of swimming in a safe environment, using a nurturing method that builds confidence.

Welcome new families to Florida Swim School!
Our growth means that more are becoming safer in water, which is our goal.
Remember that we are a swimming family and we all want to see progress in the pool.



Skills progress differently for each student, from babies to adults.
All questions are welcome.

Children are inconsistent with good days and better days.  
We will always teach them according to the feelings they are conveying to us,
with their best interest in mind.



Tip of the Month: Be Kind
Goggles in the Bathtub
This helps children get comfortable with their eyes in the water.
Place toys on the bottom so your child can look at them and practice bubbles too!

Skill of the Month
Age 2 and younger - Seated Entry with Submersion, return to wall
Starfish - Standing Jump, Return to Wall
Seahorse/Dolphin 1 - Standing Jump to a Back Float
Dolphin 2/Sharks - Flip Turns
Learning this skill according to age teaches proper, safe way to enter a pool.
  


Drowning is Preventable 

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children ages 4 and younger.
Drowning is the second cause of accidental death in children ages 14 and younger.
Reduce the statistics by enrolling in swim lessons.
88% of child drownings occur with at least 1 adult present.

Swim skills need to be practiced regularly to be useful.
Drop in classes even once a month will help keep swim skills current.  If you are looking for quicker results, schedule lessons more often.

If your class day or time has changed, remember to check the family portal for your next upcoming booking. The family portal keeps track of all of your classes!

Absences must be made on your family portal at least one hour prior to class
and can be recorded up to 90 days in advance.  
Make ups expire after 90 days and are also scheduled on your portal.
Please understand that make ups are a courtesy and not guaranteed.  
Make up classes may not be available when you need them.
