FY 2022 CoC Program Registration Update

This information was originally distributed via HUD.gov. HUD Exchange is redistributing the information for awareness.

The Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Registration Notice (CPD-22-02) requires that a Collaborative Applicant must include a tribal resolution, from the applicable Indian Tribe authorizing the CoC to include the trust land or reservation in its area of operation, as an attachment to their CoC registration submission in e-snaps.

Indian Tribes and Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHEs) forming a CoC are not required to obtain a tribal resolution to select their own trust land or reservation or to site a project on their own formula area.

Requesting Additional Time for Registration

Existing CoCs and neighboring Tribes that are working on partnering have expressed concerns to HUD about meeting the April 7, 2022, submission due date and needing more time for Tribes to complete their tribal resolution process.

CoCs may request up to 30 days of additional time to register by emailing the following information to CoCNOFO@hud.gov:

  • Subject: Registration Deadline for Tribal Resolution
  • Name of the CoC
  • Reason for the request
  • Amount of time the CoC will need to submit registration

HUD will respond indicating whether the request for additional time to register is approved.

If a CoC is unable to obtain a tribal resolution in the timeframe allowed, the CoC may submit a letter from an official or principal of the Indian Tribe or TDHE who is authorized to act on behalf of the Indian Tribe or TDHE indicating approval for the CoC to include the Tribal area in its registration.
