A Spring Update

It has been a busy spring already, and the Lord has been working in some wonderful ways!  I'm excited to share with you some good news from meetings in the past several weeks!

Revival at Central Baptist Church, Dothan, AL
The Lord gave us a great finish to our Revival meetings in Dothan.  Evangelist Matt Galvan finished the week out with a special family night emphasis on Friday night.  Visitors came, and the gospel was clearly preached!  We were greatly encouraged by a few teens that were saved and hearts that were stirred during our time with Central Baptist Church!  I highly recommend Evangelist Matt Galvan to you if you are in need of a preacher who loves Jesus, has a heart for souls, and can preach the Word with great skill and passion!  You can learn more about his ministry at evangelistmattgalvan.com.

Chapel at Mountain View Baptist School
In between meetings on the road, I got to preach again for the students at Mountain View Baptist School.  It was good to see the students again.  The Lord gave us a good chapel service.  I am always thankful for opportunities to invest in students!

Union Grove Baptist Church and School
We began March by traveling to Lexington, NC, and preaching for Pastor Josh Evans and the sweet folks at Union Grove Baptist Church.  This is a growing church, and we thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to preach for the first time in this church.  In August of last year, I had the opportunity to preach a Spiritual Emphasis week at Union Grove Christian School.  It was so neat to revisit the students and challenge them again from the Word of God.

Revival at Faith Baptist Church, Jefferson, GA
Pastor Stephen Burrell and I attended college together, and the Lord used him to have a profound influence on my life.  I was thrilled when he called and invited us to preach at the 70th anniversary service for his church and stay to preach revival meetings.  On Tuesday, Pastor Burrell and I reminisced about the meetings we had been in where the Lord's presence was so evident.  We talked of being in those services that we just did not want to end.  Later that night the Lord gave us one of those precious services!  During the music service, the Lord's presence was evident.  The Lord gave me great freedom to preach, and the altar service was filled with people doing business with the Lord.  We praise the Lord for how He is growing and moving in this sweet church! 

Farmer Baptist Church, Asheboro, NC
We were able to preach and sing for another growing and thriving church in the Asheboro area the following Sunday.  Pastor Daniel Delaney and the folks voted to take us on for monthly support during the evening service!  This was such an encouragement!  The Lord gave us a great service that evening as well!  We are excited to partner with these sweet folks to do the work of the ministry!

Revival at New Life Baptist Church, Odenville, AL
What a wonderful privilege it was to preach revival services for the first time at our home church in Alabama.  The Lord gave me the great privilege of serving for seven years as the youth pastor at New Life.  We still serve there when we are not on the road.  The Lord gave us a tremendous meeting.  It was evident that the Lord was working throughout the week.  On Wednesday night, we had two teenagers receive Jesus as their personal Savior!  Praise the Lord for His saving and stirring!

Youth Conference at Southside Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN
The Collide Revive Youth Conference took place last week at Southside Baptist Church, and I was blessed to be a part.  The Lord gave us a great group of teens to minister to.  On Friday night and Saturday morning, the teens seemed a bit reserved and hesitant to really let the Lord break through in their lives, but on Saturday night, everything changed.  A number of people made their way to the altar to do business with the Lord during the song service.  I knew the Lord was already at work.  Before preaching I allowed the students to give testimonies and speak of what the Lord was doing in their hearts.  One young man testified, and it was as if the flood gates opened.  We went into an altar service before the preaching ever began.  I preached a message on surrender, and many responded.  The students were dismissed, but the Lord continued to work.

In the hours after the service, teens continued to hang around.  Many were in groups discussing spiritual matters.  Slowly but surely, several reached out to us for counseling.  Before the night was over, five teens had trusted Christ as their personal Savior and many had gotten their hearts and lives right with the Lord.  I was counseling one young man at around 11:00PM.  The Lord had strongly impressed upon me that he needed to be saved.  Through hearing the Word of God and feeling the conviction of the Holy Spirit, he soon understood his need as well.  One of the amazing things about this young man getting saved is that he had actually left the church earlier that night to go home.  The Holy Spirit's conviction was so real in his life, that he came back to the church, and we are so glad he did!

I  believe we truly saw the reviving work of the Lord in this youth group, and I cannot wait to see what happens in the days ahead!  The Lord is on the move!
