Our City, Our World
The latest The latest IPPC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report (April 2022) states it is 'now or never' if the world is to stave off climate disaster. Greenhouse gas emissions must peak by 2025.

Here in Brighton & Hove we recognise schools have a vital role to play in educating ourselves out of the crisis, providing young people with the skills and knowledge they need to be changemakers now and in the future. We have developed a city wide strategy for sustainability, climate change and environmental education in our schools called Our City, Our World.

We are currently working closely with 10 schools across the city (infant, junior, primary, secondary and SEN)  to integrate climate literacy, environmental education and sustainability into their curriculums and develop sustainable practices across their schools.

We hope that from January 2023, we will be able to share our learning from this whole school, whole city approach with all other schools in the city.  However, given the importance and urgency of this work, we would like to invite all headteachers, governors and business managers to the event below.  Please do share this with your school leadership team.
