Letter from the Editor
Happy May from everyone here at the Kent County Democratic Party! We have a few very important events happening this month and, as we look towards November, the success of these events will define our ability to succeed this year.  First, we continue to need all hands on deck to support Carol Glanville in her special election on May 3rd.  Second, we look forward to seeing you at the Kent County Democratic Party Volunteer Fair.  If you want to get involved but don't know how to plug in, this is the place to be. Help us help you help us! Finally, we're very excited to roll out our new website.  It's been a labor of love for Jeff Thomas in particular so we all owe him a huge thank you! It's much more user friendly and has a complete list of Democratic candidates running in Kent County.
Come to the KCDP Volunteer Fair

Join us at the Kent Dems office on Saturday, 5/7 from 10am to 12pm for a volunteer fair to learn about opportunities to get involved in elections in Kent County in 2022!

This is a chance to chat with leaders in the party about different volunteer projects and needs, to learn more about the work KCDP is doing this election cycle, and to take action to help elect more Democrats.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Sign up here! Not able to join us on 5/7? Fill out our volunteer form and we'll help you get involved.

Remember the May 3rd Special Election!
As most of you know, Carol Glanville is running in a special election on May 3rd for the 74th House Seat. Mark the calendar, if you live in that district remember to vote and whether you do or not, please help Carol win an essential election against an opponent who stands against virtually everything we are trying to achieve by canvassing. Sign up here!
Protect the Vote!
The May special election is coming up on May 3. We need volunteers to serve as Poll Challengers that day and as Early Vote Observers at the clerk's office for early voting. All volunteers will receive training from the MDP Voter Protection team. You can sign-up here.

Poll Challengers serve as our team’s eyes and ears on the ground at polling locations on Election Day. They observe the process and intervene with election officials as needed, to make sure that voters are able to cast a ballot that counts. Our Challengers do NOT challenge voters; rather, they advocate for voters. Poll Challengers must be registered to vote in Michigan and they receive credentials from the MDP.

Early Vote Observers visit clerk’s offices periodically during the Early Voting period (40 days before Election Day) to make sure that absentee ballots are being issued upon request and that all relevant rules are being followed.
