It is a very exciting time as we head towards National Volunteer Week (16-23 May 2022), a time when we can all come together to celebrate volunteering. There will events in Alice Springs and Darwin, and for the first time we are pleased to be partnering with NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services (NTPFES) in their WOW (Wear Orange on Wednesday) celebrations in Darwin. Our Colour Your Community Red online campaign will provide everyone the opportunity to celebrate volunteers.
As we emerge from restrictions and density limits, it’s wonderful to see so many volunteers donating their time again, across many sectors.
Finally, we are proud to partner with our peak body counterparts around the country to help coordinate a national campaign to re-engage volunteers into Residential Aged Care Facilities, that will deliver companionship and social support to residents. I hope you can help.
So as always, stay safe and thanks for your great support.

AGED CARE VOLUNTEERING
Can you spare some time to support aged care residents who are looking for companionship and social support? Coming out of the pandemic many people are looking to get back to volunteering, or for some, to start volunteering for the first time. A National program to re-engage volunteers into Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF’s) will be launched in the coming weeks.

CARE AND SUPPORT SUBMISSIONS
Volunteers contribute extensively across Australia's care and support sectors including aged care, disability support and veterans' care. Volunteering SA&NT, along with other volunteering peak bodies, join Volunteering Australia in two submissions providing recommendations and highlighting the significant role volunteers play in the care and support sectors.
