Peru Mission eBulletin - April 2022

Christ Kids at a New Site

Our Team

Field Notes

  1. Please pray for our political and economic troubles in Peru. We have had a month of protests and strikes, and now the war in Ukraine has greatly increased fuel prices and seriously affected an already recessed economy.

  2. Please pray for our new mission outreach in the city of Chimbote, especially for leader Roberto Tang. Pastors Esdras and Wes are planning several days of discipleship and leadership training in Chimbote in April.

  3. Please join us in praying about a growing and more antagonistic secularism in Peru and Latin America. We recently had the Peruvian IRS inform us that we cannot retain tax exempt status in Peru because, as a religious organization, we are only supposed to “proclaim our creed”—we are not supposed to be involved in education, healthcare, or any of the broader types of mercy ministry that we do. Our lawyer thinks this will be quickly solved through appeal (we currently have dual legal status as a “religious community” and as an NGO for Development). These headaches cost time and money however that we would much rather use elsewhere.

  4. Praise God with us for new members and full new-member classes in our Trujillo churches. We’ll tell you more about these next month.
