Over 5,300 Pounds of Empty Water Bottles Recycled in Benton Harbor

More than 5,300 pounds of empty water bottles have been recycled through a plastic water bottle recycling program located at Benton Harbor High School. Two trailers of empty water bottles have been processed through Schupan Recycling and a third trailer is currently accepting empty water bottles.

MGSSBF March Green Drinks Held at Local Pour

On March 22, 12 local sustainability-minded business leaders gathered at Local Pour in Sawyer for networking and discussions on  circular economy, local sustainability initiatives and the environment. 

Benton Harbor Workers Hired for City’s Lead Water Line Replacement Project

Abonmarche reports 90 people are currently working on the replacement project, with one-third of those workers hailing from Benton Harbor. At least 582 lead service lines have been replaced - 110 in the last month alone. A little under 4,000 need to be redone by May 2023.
