NStEP Conference: Hear from an exciting line-up of speakers!

To mark the launch of a new chapter in the NStEP story and our efforts to foster student-staff partnership in Irish higher education, we're hosting an online conference on 10th May from 10am until 2pm. We hope that staff and students from across the sector will join us and hear from:

Rhiannon Kavanagh, Student Associate, NFETL and NStEP
Emer Neville, President of the Irish Second-Level Students' Union (ISSU)

Call for Submissions: Case Studies of Student Engagement

Later this year, NStEP will launch a new resources hub for student engagement. We hope that this hub can showcase student engagement good practices from across Irish higher education. Both students and staff are invited to submit case studies for inclusion in the new hub! Your work could inspire others across the sector!

NStEP facilitates in-person student engagement workshop at Marino Institute of Education (MIE)

MIE and MIE Students’ Union recently signed a short partnership agreement to work with NStEP to enhance student engagement at the Institute. Soon after joining the programme, the NStEP team were hosted on campus to facilitate a student engagement analysis workshop with students and staff. This was the first institutional enhancement workshop delivered in-person/on-campus by NStEP in nearly two years.

During 2021/2022, the NStEP Student Trainer team facilitated training with 1,103 class reps. Thank to you to our incredible team and to all student participants for their dedication and commitment. Class Reps can apply for a national Student Engagement Recognition Award.
The second annual Student Voice Summit (a seminar for students), heard from Maisha Islam (University of Winchester) and Cameron Keighron (NUI Galway) on issues of equality, diversity, and inclusion in student engagement practices. Watch their presentations here.

A special word of thanks...

Friday, 1st April was Dr Jeffrey Cox's last day as NStEP Development Coordinator. Jeffrey guided the NStEP student training programme through a huge project of expansion, reaching and supporting more student reps than ever before. The NStEP team and our partner organisations would like to take this opportunity to thank Jeffrey for his incredible work over the past two years, and to wish him well for the future.
