A MESSAGE FROM MR. PAYNE

Good Evening Eagle Family!
I hope everyone was able to have a restful and enjoyable Spring Break last week. Our students and staff had been working so incredibly hard all Winter, so Spring Break came at the most opportune time!

Please excuse our mess! The hard work taking place in the classroom is not the only heavy lifting going on! Construction crews continue to make great progress on our renovation. CLICK HERE to view an awesome video below created by a group of our leadership students showing off some of the newly renovated spaces. In an effort to make sure the project stays on track, we continue to make flexible decisions. Just before Spring Break, we moved our entire front office into the Library. If you need to visit the office, you will be buzzed in as you normally would, but instead, you will enter the new “office” to the right. This renovation has required incredible flexibility and responsiveness by parents, students, and school and district staff, and it will certainly all be worth it as we transition into a fully renovated building for the 2022-2023 school year. CLICK HERE to see a few "Behind the Scenes" pictures of the current renovation work.

Lunch Changes at Main: Another change that needed to be made included beginning work on the kitchen at RDES. This means that lunches are being prepared at West Middle and brought over to RDES Main. The menu for lunch for the remainder of the year at RDES Main can be found here. We appreciate everyone being understanding, and are very thankful for our hardworking cafeteria staff who provide fantastic meals for our students.

It is hard to believe there are only six weeks left in the school year! It will be an incredibly busy time, full of hard work and fun! Please pay close attention to the important upcoming dates, including information regarding the musical, testing, and the end of the year activities.

Proud to be an Eagle,
Mr. Payne

KSA TESTING
This year students in grades 3rd-5th will be taking the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA), formerly known as KPREP. We have all been working very hard this school year and I am so proud of the dedication demonstrated by our children. Now it is time for them to shine and show what they have learned! Please remember the importance of attendance during this week. We are asking that you make the maximum effort to have your student arrive at school everyday, on-time, and well-rested. Each of our students have worked incredibly hard this school year and we look forward to them showing all that they know on this state assessment.

Testing Dates
Third Grade will test May 3rd and 4th
Fourth Grade will test May 3rd - May 5th

We will be communicating more information soon about a new date and time for our incoming students to visit RDES.
