A Message from the Chair

Ellis County Republicans,

It has been two months since we last met and much has transpired. First I would like to thank all the candidates who won their primary races. Next, as always, every ninety days we have an election. Early voting will begin April 25th for the May 7th election. This election will be for city council and school board races as well as there will be several cities with propositions to vote on. Please go to the election website to view your city council candidates, school board candidates, and your city's propositions. On this ballot there will be two state propositions to amend the State Constitution. Two weeks after the May 7th election, the runoff election will be held for Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham who will face Tim Westley. Also the runoff for Texas Railroad Commissioner Wayne Christian will face Sarah Stogner. Finally, the runoff for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton will face George P. Bush.

We had a successful Senatorial District 2 and  22 convention. Both were held this past Saturday at the same time at the Women's Building in Waxahachie. I would like to thank all of those that worked on the convention and on the committees. I would like to extend a special thank you to Paula Anz and her committee as well as Kameron Rayburn for excepting the chairmanship of SD 2. I also want to congratulate all of the state delegates and alternates that were selected to go to the state convention in Houston on June thirteenth through eighteenth.

Hope to see you all at the next meeting on April 5th at 6:30 p.m. at the Texas Motorplex Champion Club.

A Message from the Vice Chair

Greetings Patriots,

Wow what a busy month we had with elections, precinct conventions and the Senate District Conventions! We had so many volunteers that helped to make this all go so smoothly. I am so grateful for all the volunteers that came out to help set up the conventions it was so nice to have so many taking the time to make a huge difference!
Thank you to Representative Brian Harrison for providing breakfast and the all day coffee bar, Senator Brian Birdwell and Congressman Jake Ellzey for providing lunch and the Railport and SJ Kitchen for hosting our group. Judge Todd Little provided afternoon snacks that were greatly appreciated during the resolutions process!
Ellis County filled every seat for delegates to state convention which will be in Houston in June. I am grateful to have been selected to serve on the credentials committee at the state convention representing all of SD22.
If you are interested in volunteering for the state convention CLICK HERE and submit your application.
We will need election workers for the runoff/city/school board elections. If you are interested please give me a call or text at 9722683507.

"Welcome to the Party Pal"

Over my last few years entrenched in politics I've seen that many times the people's values are not reflected in local, state, or at the national level of government--shocker. The bureaucracies have run rampant on all levels to the point where some joke that we are "free-ish" rather than free. However, in my many conversations I have throughout the weeks with various people in my many different networks, I hear more of the same sentiment. To put it into one word, "push-back". There is a "push-back" which is ever present and growing. When our neighbors begin to join this on-going fight we have with counter-culture we should embrace them and channel our best John McClane voice echoing, "Welcome to the party, pal!" Let them and help them dig their heels in as deep as we have dug our heels in so we have all facets covered in this fight to maintain and protect our great Republic. It's sad to me to hear my 4th-8th grade students say things like, "Disney is really messing up." The nostalgia and culture we have from something as simple as family entertainment is not just under attack, it's infiltrated by this counter-culture. Even the "push-back" is happening in our young kids. I guess the questions are, "Has Pandora's box been open too long, already? Or, is there an opportunity to turn this ship around?"

It's an all hands on deck situation and will be for the foreseeable future, after all, as the great Thomas Jefferson said, " The cost of freedom is eternal vigilance."

Keep fighting the good fight citizens of Ellis County. They will hear us.

Check out the newly relaunched EllisCountyGOP.org website.  This is an ongoing update, please let me know if you see any errors or omissions.

Featured on the
"Library" page are downloadable pdfs that currently include the generic ballot for the upcoming "Joint Special Election" along with the Constitutional Amendments that will be voted on, the Early Voting locations with dates and times and the Election Day locations and times.  Early Voting will run from April 25th-30th with Election Day on May 7th. Candidates for this election are expected to be at this week's meeting (April 5th, 6:30PM at the Texas Motorplex Champions Club in Ennis).

This "Joint Special Election" will include city council, school board and other "non-partisan" races. I stress "non-partisan" because I want everyone to consider what this really means. It means those running for office don't label themselves as being a member of a particular party.  This lack of an (R) or (D) next to their name does not mean that each candidate does not have record indicating the direction they lean on topics that come before them. Please research each candidate.  If you are not sure where to find their voting record contact your precinct chair.  If you are a precinct chair, be prepared to guide your constituents so they can make an informed decision. Many  of these races have often been "off the radar". As a result we have elected representatives on school boards who have supported (or at the very least ignored) the teaching of CRT and left-wing "woke policies".  This in turn leads to young impressionable children being indoctrinated by schools who's very existence is dependent on our tax dollars.
