Here is an overview of the deprecations that were announced last month:

  • Azure Application Gateway (classic) is retiring on August 31st 2024 (link)

  • Azure Data Lake Analytics is retiring on February 29th 2024 (link)
  • Azure Virtual Network (classic) is retiring on August 31st 2024 (link)
  • Azure ExpressRoute Gateway (classic) is retiring on August 31st 2024 (link)
  • Azure Time Series Insights is retiring on March 31st 2025 (link)
  • Azure Reserved IP Address (classic) is retiring on August 31st 2024 (link)
  • Azure VPN Gateway (classic) is retiring on August 31st 2024 (link)
  • App Service Environment v2 is retiring on August 31st 2024 (link)
  • App Service Environment v1 is retiring on August 31st 2024 (link)
  • IP addresses for Azure API Management's resource provider are retiring on March 31st 2023 (link)
  • Kubernetes v1.20 is being removed from Azure Kubernetes Service on April 7th 2022 (link)

  • Azure Dedicated Hosts SKUs Dsv3-Type1, Esv3-Type1, Dsv3-Type2, and Esv3-Type2 are retiring on March 31st 2023 (link)
  • Community support for .NET 5 in Azure App Service is retiring on May 8th 2022 (link)

Deprecation Extensions

Here is an overview of the deprecations that were extended:

  • Microsoft Security Code Analysis (MSCA) extension is retiring on 1 July 2022, instead of 1 March 2022 (link)
  • Azure Virtual Machine NC v2-series are retiring on 31 August 2023, instead of 31 August 2022 (link)
  • Azure Virtual Machine NC-series are retiring on 31 August 2023, instead of 31 August 2022 (link)
  • Azure Virtual Machine ND-series are retiring on 31 August 2023, instead of 31 August 2022 (link)
  • Azure Virtual Machine NV-series & NV_Promo SKU are retiring on 31 August 2023, instead of 31 August 2022 (link)

Upcoming Deprecations

Careful, here is an overview of the deprecations (*) that are almost going to take effect and might impact you:

  • Kubernetes v1.20 is being removed from Azure Kubernetes Service on April 7th 2022 (link)
  • Azure Site Recovery data encryption feature will be retired April 30, 2022 (link)
  • Community support for Node 12 LTS in Azure App Service is retiring on April 30th 2022 (link)
  • Community support for .NET 5 in Azure App Service is retiring on May 8th 2022 (link)
  • Azure Monitor containers insights preview version for Azure Red Hat OpenShift v4.x is retiring on May 31st 2022 (link)
  • Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Authentication Library (ADAL) and Azure AD Graph API are deprecated by June 30th, 2022 (link)
  • Azure Red Hat OpenShift 3.11 will be retired on 30 June 2022 (link)
  • Azure Active Directory (AD) Graph is retiring on 30 June 2022 (link)
  • Premium Container SKU (public preview) in Azure App Service v1.20 is retiring on June 30th 2022 (link)
