April 2022

Onyx Leadership Team

Alright people, we have made it to the beginning of Q2, how are we feeling? Have you made your Q2 goals?? What seeds are you planting? What do you want to see grow for this new quarter of the year?

April is set to bring many positive things for us all. Many moments of reflection and several days that allow for greatness. This month is one that induces self-awareness, self-restraint, and a sense of community amongst our fellow men + womxn. The goal during April is to learn more about yourself and your relationship with the powers that be, striving to deepen that relationship through acts of service and not being consumed by the normal materialistic vices in our lives.

Autism Awareness starts this month and as mental health champions, we at Onyx Therapy Group support all of the efforts that assist in people understanding the causes and effects of autism on children and adults. The theme for Autism Awareness month is #celebratedifferences and this April, the Autism Society is working to celebrate all differences because they recognize the variety of experiences within the autism community and emphasize the need for equitable access to support, services, and resources. It’s important as mental health champions to extend our love and support and we hope you do as well.

World Health Day soon follows on April 7th and this day is always a great opportunity to reflect and understand how we can make an impact in the world and our immediate communities from an inclusive health perspective. The World Health Organization asks us -

Are we able to reimagine a world where clean air, water and food are available to all?

Where economies are focused on health and well-being?

Where cities are liveable and people have control over their health and the health of the planet?”

The World Health Organization estimates that there are 13 millions deaths around the world EVERY year that are caused by avoidable environmental causes - and it is now a HEALTH CRISIS! As a community it should be our collective goal to create sustainable societies.

So ask yourself, how are you making an impact? What are you changing and implementing in your everyday life that will assist in keeping Mother Earth beautiful?

How can you continue the idea of a “well-being” society?

We have to STOP waiting on Earth Day to come around to treat her right! The goal is to PREVENT!
