Health Navigator NZ has recently developed medicine factsheets for 2 commonly used pain medicines - ibuprofen and paracetamol. The factsheets explain how to safely take each medicine, the importance of checking the ingredients of other medicines you take, what to do if you take too much paracetamol and when you shouldn't take ibuprofen.
These are available in Te Reo Māori, Samoan, Cook Island Māori, Tongan, Niuean and English.

Bite Back is a FREE, self-guided online wellbeing and resilience program for young people aged 13 – 16 years old. Developed by the Black Dog Institute in Australia, evidence shows that using BITE BACK can decrease symptoms of depression and anxiety and increase wellbeing.

Just a Thought – new social anxiety course
NZ focused online course designed to be completed over 6-8 weeks. Evidence-based, with 80% of people benefiting substantially and 50% reporting they were no longer troubled by anxiety after completing the course.

Adult obesity management in New Zealand general practice: a review Journal of Primary Health Care 13 (3) Norman, K, Chepulis, L. et al.This study searched six online databases for peer-reviewed research about adult obesity management in NZ and found 11 studies that met their criteria.
Conclusion: “We found that there are effective weight loss interventions available for primary health-care professionals to refer to. Although most interventions did produce some weight loss, patients may need more comprehensive interventions that include a combination of diet, exercise and behaviour modifications in culturally appropriate ways..." Study shows increased cardiovascular risk after Covid-19
The cardiovascular risks and burdens were evident even among individuals who were not hospitalized during the acute phase of the infection and increased in a graded fashion according to the care setting. Authors recommend cardiovascular risk be included in all covid care pathways moving forward.
