Experience Opportunities
A fantastic opportunity for Year 12 students- Nuffield research Placements
Deadline is now the 19th of April 


Spend your summer developing your research and quantitative skills on a short project that will enhance your university application and future employment opportunities.
If this sounds like you, then a Nuffield Research Placement could be the perfect way to spend your summer.

Nuffield Research Placements are supervised but independent research projects relating to an area of science, quantitative social science, computing, technology, engineering or maths (or a combination of these).

NHS Allied Healthcare Work Experience session on Sunday 3rd April

A quick reminder that students who wish to participate in the NHS Allied Work Experience session on Sunday 3rd April have until Friday 1st April to register.

The programme is available for year groups:

10-12 - England & Wales

All students will be awarded a Work Experience Certificate for participating in the day - a great addition to their UCAS and Apprenticeship Applications.


The Work Experience day on Sunday 3rd April will cover the following healthcare careers:

- Nursing
- Midwifery
- Paramedicine
- Physiotherapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Dietetics
- Radiography
- Prosthetics and Orthotics
- Speech and language therapy
- Pharmacy

This will take place through an online portal and run LIVE from 10am-5pm, following 2 patients from accident to recovery.

Students will see these patients interact with a variety of healthcare professionals listed above. This will help them develop an understanding of the multidisciplinary team and provide insight into their chosen careers.

Students will also have the opportunity to interact with the healthcare professionals via a LIVE Chat and polls throughout the day!

The cost to attend is £10/student per session. This is an administrative cost to cover the set-up of individual portals, personalised certificates, safeguarding, and technology on the day, such as our servers and chat functions.

Brand New exciting Masterclass offering for your students in Year 12 &13
Here at the EDT (Engineering Development Trust) we would like to invite your Year 12 & 13 students the opportunity to register for our Brand New ‘Your Route to Professional Qualifications’ Masterclass that we are running over the Easter Holiday on Tuesday 12th April.
 
This Masterclass will be run on Zoom by a Senior Professional Development Advisor for the IET and will provide students with a fantastic understanding of the routes to Professional Qualifications in Engineering and Computing that are available to them and how much they can plan the next steps in their personal and professional development.  These skills will help and support them in a number of ways including Job Interviews, Assessment Days, Annual Appraisal Discussions, knowledge growth and understanding, Networking opportunities, planning for their future!
 
There is a small cost of £10 for this Masterclass which will include access to the live session, a copy of the slides used by the presenter, further reading links and a certificate of attendance which will be a great addition to their portfolio.

Apprenticeship Events & Opportunities
Duncan Chartered Accountants 

We are a two partner firm of Chartered Accountants based in Sheffield and are looking to take on an apprentice within the next few months.  Please see the attached for some information about the practice and team.
 
The successful candidate will be supported through the Association of Accounting Technician and/or Chartered Accountancy qualifications.
 
Other than having strong numeracy skills, we are also looking for someone with a particular interest in IT.
 
There are currently 10 people in our team including:
  • 4 Chartered Accountants (two also Chartered Tax Advisers)
  • 1 Certified Accountant
  • 1 Certified Accountant trainee
