Makuru is the coldest and wettest time of the year. Traditionally, this was a good time to move inland and food sources changed from the sea and estuary to those of the land like kangaroos. As well as a food source, animal skins were used for cloaks, and bones and sinews for hunting tools. To reduce plastic pollution, the WA Government is implementing a state-wide ban on the supply of certain plastic items from 1 July.
This affects City of Canning Libraries, Leisureplexes and Hillview Intercultural Community Centre. Do your part for the environment by bringing a reusable water bottle to the libraries and Leisureplexes. You can even bring your own keep cup to Aquaccino Café.
