Crisis Averted! Salt Water Line Repaired

The salt water supply line to The Taffy Shop was restored last week after a near epic old faithful sized geyser erupted in front of the shop.
Only a few people remember when the permanent salt water supply for The Taffy Shop was established from the salt deposit in the Alva B Adams tunnel in the early forties. During tunnel construction, crews discovered a salt deposit that was quickly purchased by local businesses owner Lowell Slack, who had founded The Taffy Shop 5 years prior in 1935. Slack had been hauling fresh salt water in from the coast before establishing the local supply, which was a costly and dangerous practice.
Lowell's investment in a permanent local salt water supply made sure that generations of families would enjoy Estes Park Salt Water Taffy for years to come, and now in the 87th year of production, it's clear that there's something special about this Taffy!
To this day, the store clerks offer a free piece to anyone that comes into the shop, located at 121 W Elkhorn Ave. The destination of the local, organic salt water from the Alva B Adams salt mine supply line.
