Brain Power Students Selected for Speaker's Idol Semi-Finals!
Brain Power students Mahaara Bhimani (junior-high level), Alfie Chan (junior-high level), and Natasha Kudsia (high-school level) are among the students who have been selected to compete in the Speaker's Idol 2022 semi-finals!
That means they are among the top 22 of the 250 students who competed!

Brain Power Students Participate in SuitUp Business Competition
Brain Power students recently had the honour of competing in the annual North American SuitUp business competition.
Amongst many excellent teams, our very own Brain Power team won first prize for their innovative pitch - prepared and delivered within tight timelines and virtual collaboration!
We are so proud to participate in this competition and even prouder to take top honours ! Business pitch competitions leverage the critical thinking, communication, problem solving and presentation skills that we aim to perfect in young student leaders!

Leon Gaikovoi is Selected for the Catalyst 2022 Summer Program
Brain Power student Leon Gaikovoi has been selected to participate in the Catalyst 2022 Summer Program!
Catalyst is an initiative of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo, and it creates opportunities for high-school youth to increase awareness, confidence and leadership abilities in engineering, science, and technology.

Charlotte Wong Wins 2nd and 3rd Place in Royal Canadian Legion
Remembrance Day Literary Contest
Brain Power student Charlotte Wong won 2nd place for poemsand3rd place for essays in her branch of the Royal Canadian Legion's Remembrance Day Literary Contest on the provincial level!

Mark Raspopov Helps in Designing the Canadian Math Summer Contest 2022
Brain Power student Mark Raspopov is helping to design the Canadian Math Summer Contest (CMSC) this year!
Mark won the CMSC last year, and this year he has qualified for both the Canadian Junior Math Olympiad (CJMO) and the USA Junior Math Olympiad (USAJMO)!

Online Course was a Big Success!
On March 3 and 10, Brain Power teamed up with Vaughan Public Libraries to hold a special two-session online crash course in debating for teens (Grades 8-12)!
It was a big success!
Under the guidance of Brain Power instructor Dr.Will Pelloux F. (pictured), students began their journey to mastering the art and science of persuasion and communication.

Thoughts on Brain Power: Brain Power is where I found my passion for learning. In Brain Power I found what I had always been missing in school, people who were as curious as I was, and a place where I could challenge myself and where people were willing to share and listen to new and creative ideas.
The Canadian Math Summer Contest - 2022 is an initiative by Competitive Kids STEM to provide students across the globe with an opportunity to showcase their talent and develop their skills. The contest is designed to challenge and promote problem-solving, critical thinking, reasoning, abstract or spatial thinking as well as communication skills.
Eligibility: All students from Grade 1-8.
The preliminary round is an online test written between May 1-15.
The final round will be held online on June 18.
Young Voices Magazine, Toronto Public Library's magazine of creative writing and visual art, is full of writing and art created and selected by Toronto youth age 12-19.
You can submit your art, photography, comics, stories, poems and writing.
