Hello, Friends!
On April 2nd I had the privilege of speaking to the entire assembly of the 2022 Alberta Association of Library Technicians Conference attendees. When I told people beforehand that I was doing this, the typical first question was, "Oh, what are you speaking about?"
Comics. I talk about comics. I talk about comics a lot. It's kinda my job.
Anyway, it was yet another great experience to share with true influencers the awesome tools of entertainment and inspiration that comics are. It's also a rush to have so many people storm our display table afterwards with questions and comments!
Oh, if you missed it, I went "Full Oprah" during my presentation and it was a ton of fun. Looking forward to the Fall and attending more conferences (hint hint, book us NOW!)
As for the upcoming titles featured in this month's newsletter, you'll notice that the LGBTQ+ recommendations are a littler bigger than usual. That's because June is Pride months and many of the new soliciations are shipping in June. If you have thoughts of spotlighting some great new titles we hope our suggestions below can assist you!
And in regards to celebrating things, Free Comic Book Day is coming May 7th! For those of you who put your orders in for comics back in January, your books are arriving and we'll be shipping them out soon!
For those who may have missed the order deadline for this year's titles - FEAR NOT! - there is still time to put something together!
- You don't have to host FCBD only on May 7th, you can do it anytime!
- There are several titles still available to order, with pricing ranging from 40 to 60 cents per book!
- We do have some, very limited, extra stock we can provide you with now if you need some assistance!
