Spring has arrived and there is plenty of excitement to be had! As the recently appointed City Manager, I am excited to lead the City forward with continued growth and revitalization. I have enjoyed my time here in Peekskill thus far and look forward to all the great things to come.

Department Spotlight: Water Department


                 
The Water Department, led by Dave Rambo, is responsible for developing and maintaining water service throughout the city. The department's responsibilities include locating and repairing water and sewer leaks. installing new water and sewer mains, reading water meters, installing water taps, reviewing water bill complaints, cleaning sewer lines and storm drains, and more. Did you know that we have an annual output of over 1.5 billion gallons of water? Our Water Department regularly monitors the quality to ensure safe drinking water for all and continues to meet all State and Federal health requirements.

Retake/Remake Ribbon Cutting Celebration

Hydrant Flushing


                 
The Water Department will be performing hydrant flushing starting on April 4th through May 6th between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you are experiencing persistent discoloration after running your cold water for a short period of time, please notify the Water Department at (914) 734-4110.
Public Hearing Notice


                 
The Common Council will be holding a public hearing on Monday, April 11th at 7:30 pm in the Council Chambers to hear comments on an amended special use permit to locate a childcare facility at 1 Park Place. As always, we encourage members of the community to attend our meetings in person or virtually to share their thoughts and concerns. AARP Tax Help 


                 
Do you still need help with your taxes? For those who need assistance, there will be AARP tax preparation services available every Friday until April 15th starting at 9:30 am in the Senior Club room located below the Field Library by appointment only. If you would like to make an appointment, please call (914) 440-3086.
Peekskill Agencies Together Meeting


                 
Join the Peekskill Youth Bureau at the Peekskill Agencies Together (P.A.T.) in-person meeting on Wednesday, April 20th from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at 828 Main Street. This month's speakers will be New York State Senator Pete Harckham and Peekskill City School District Superintendent Dr. David Mauricio who will be continuing his discussion on supporting students and families through equity and service. To register for this month's meeting, please click here or scan the QR code. 
Peekskill Parks Spring Cleanup

                 
Help keep our parks clean by taking part in the Peekskill Parks Spring Cleanup on Saturday, April 23rd from 8:00 am - 11:30 am, followed by a Tree City USA Ceremony and Tree Planting at Depew Park beginning at 11:30 am. Peekskill Youth Bureau Spelling Bee 


                 
The Peekskill Youth Bureau will be holding a citywide spelling bee on Saturday, April 30th at 12 noon for grades 6-8 at 828 Main Street. For more information, please contact Executive Director Tuesday Paige McDonald at (914) 734-4149 or email tmcdonald@cityofpeekskill.com.  
5th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival & Plant Sale


                 
The Peekskill Rotary Club will be holding their 5th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival & Plant Sale on Saturday, April 30th from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm at the Riverfront Green. Celebrate the beauty of spring with children's activities, craft vendors, food vendors, raffles, plants for sale, and more. Awareness to Wellness Festival


                 
Inner Being Yoga for the Soul will be holding an Awareness to Wellness Festival on Saturday, April 30th from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Esther Street. The Peekskill Youth Bureau held their annual Women's History Month Celebration on Thursday, March 24th where they honored Assemblywoman Sandy Galef with the Trailblazer Award, Millie Guerrero with the Outstanding Service Award, and Marquette Hairston with the Outstanding Service Award. Peekskill Youth Bureau Summer Youth Programs
 

Summer will be here before you know it! The Peekskill Youth Bureau has opened up registration for its summer youth programs that will be running from July 5th through August 19th.
