QUEER CROW DEATH MAGIC

QUEER CROW DEATH MAGIC - 11-21 April.

A residency by Frank Duffy, culminating in a 3-day exhibition in the space from 22nd- 24th April.

The exhibition opening will be from 6-9pm on Friday 22nd April.

If you can’t make the opening, the exhibition will be available to see on the Saturday and Sunday from 12-6pm.

The exhibition, QUEER CROW DEATH MAGIC, will show the work Frank wil create at the residency plus some older works too.

Frank, will be using old, reused, rejected and repurposed surfaces to smear oils and stick newspaper cuttings and draw crows. Incredibly excited to be spending two weeks in deep immersion & seeing what emerges. I’m planning a few events to go alongside this.

Artist bio:

“Frank Duffy (they/them) works through collage, oil paints, lino printing, newspaper clippings and sparkly stickers to explore the strange and shifting space between binaries. Frustrated with the structural straitjacket of heteronormativity, particularly vicious media transphobia, Frank drafts an army of crows aimed at bringing chaos to order, expanding that gap between this-and-that, determined that they, and all the other queerdos, will have room to breathe.”

Lone Worlds

Come be Queer

14/04/22 6-11pm

We are proud to announce our fourth installment will be taking place on Thursday 14th of April at at Shift.

Lone Worlds is a collective of LGBTQ+ creatives with a mission to community build, educate and encourage creative development for queer-identifying people in Wales. We are eager to platform queer voices and facilitate safer alternative spaces in the city.

Come Be Queer! features a breadth of queer talent, performing poetry and spoken word. This time around, our programme for the evening will feature a collaboration with the ambient work of Goodparley.

Our event is BYOB, though cash donations are optional! We appreciate all the support we can get, as we are completely self-funded, and would love to continue making these events possible!

For the comfort and wellbeing of all attendees, performances will disclose any potential trigger warnings, which may include any number of explicit themes. Furthermore, complimentary pronoun tags will be offered as an option upon arrival.

Email  loneworldscardiff@gmail.com if you would like to participate, or if you have any questions or concerns regarding accessibility (so that we might make arrangements for you)!

Join us for another celebration of queer community!
