Video Update

"I feel amazing, and my knee still doesn't hurt."

I was given the honor to serve at a 3-day crusade in Orlando for Evangelist Chris Mikkelson. The event was from April 1st - to April 3rd. I posted some highlight videos and pictures from the event on our Facebook page if you want to check them out.

The evangelistic crusade was located in a neighborhood that appeared to be riddled with crime and poverty. On the first night of the crusade, as I drove by a nearby gas station, I saw the police tape and a forensics van nearby where it appeared someone had been shot.

It appeared the area had a lot of issues with homelessness and substance abuse. The event that was going on advertised a lot of giveaways, including a car, so there were quite a few people there.

The reality is that this event is not advertised as a crusade, so most people have no idea of what is in store for them.

After helping get some things ready for the event, we had about 30 minutes before the doors opened. The people were friendly but certainly apprehensive.

I began to walk down the line of people waiting to get in and asked each one if they had any pain in their body. Almost everyone I asked looked at me suspiciously and then said something like, "Yes, why are you asking?".

"I want to pray for you, and Jesus is going to heal you," I would state boldly. I would then pray and watch the Lord do miracle after miracle.

I came across a family that had two older women. One of the women looked like the grandma, and the other the mom. They also had two teenage girls with them.

They were skeptical, and their faces had the story of life written on them that things were not easy and life was hard. They were polite but made it clear by the body language that they were not too impressed with me talking to them.

The mom told me that she had pain in her knee and elbows. I prayed for her left elbow first, and Jesus immediately healed her. I then prayed for her other elbow, and Jesus healed her.

She sat amazed, moving her arms back and forth in disbelief as I asked her if it was okay to pray for her knee. I bent down to pray for her knee, and I could tell by her face that the Lord had moved, and she was healed.

I now had the full attention of the grandma, and she leaned in to tell me about her knee issues. I bent down and prayed, and Jesus touched her and healed her knee completely.

I then started to tell them how much Jesus loved them and how I felt that Jesus had healed them to show them that He was real and that He loved them.

I asked the grandma if she had given her life to Jesus yet, and she stated, "Not completely.". I told her, "I believe tonight that will change."

The line began to move, and I went to the next people in line, watching Jesus touch people with His love and power.

Later that night, I found that grandma at the front of the crowd with tears in her eyes shortly after giving her life to Jesus. I asked her, "How do you feel right now?". She stated, "I feel amazing, and my knee still doesn't hurt."

I told her how that testimony was my favorite one of the night. We hugged each other briefly as tears rolled from my face. Standing beside her were the mom and the two teen daughters. All with tears in their eyes and all washed clean by the blood of Jesus. A whole family changed in an instant by the power of the Gospel.

This crusade is a perfect example of the power of the Gospel. I think it is safe to say that most of these people that came were looking for a chance to win something or perhaps for some groceries. They were hungry and needy and wanted help.

They did not sign up for a Christian event. The faces of some of the people, when they realized it was a Christian event, were disappointed. The heavy load of life's burdens and sins left many with a hardened face and, dare I say, spirit.

But then the worship came, and people began to loosen up and relax a little. The worship goes out into the spiritual atmosphere and begins to break the chains holding people.

Then the unapologetic message of the Gospel is preached. It is not a watered-down version of the truth. It is the Biblical Gospel with full mention of the blood of Jesus, repentance, and sin.

Then the time comes for the altar call. I was an usher in the front row facing the stage. I waited while praying, trusting God to move and save.

Then a flood of people starts coming up. This link to our Facebook page will bring you to the video from day one. Some in tears, some running, some smiling. I then hear the people give their life to the Lord as my eyes stream tears. I look around and see those hardened faces soften right before my eyes.

Most go back to their seats with smiles on their face. Some are still crying, but all are changed wholly by the life-saving Gospel.

I have to admit. I was surprised at the number of people that came up to the front to pray. A part of me thought that these people would have been a little offended or even felt like they were tricked into listening to the Gospel. The Gospel will work wherever you preach it.

That is the power of the Gospel. I remember in Tanzania, standing on a corner of a street in busy Dar Es Salem with my friend Ed Funk from Bootcamp. We stood on the same street corner for over 2 hrs preaching the same Gospel and praying for the sick. Over and over, Jesus saved, and Jesus healed.

In Ibadan, Nigeria, I remember hearing of the people that came to one of the truck outreaches to kidnap and potentially kill one of the evangelists. While these thugs sat in the crowd waiting for the evangelist to leave the platform, they heard the Gospel, broke out into tears, and gave their lives to Jesus.

At this recent crusade in Orlando, I saw miracles with the people waiting in line every night and when Chris Mikkelson would pray for the sick.

We would see this every day when we were in Africa without fail. We would pray for the sick and preach the Gospel. Every day we would see miracles and salvations.

Some that I have talked to have attributed this to the poverty and desperation of those in Africa or perhaps a greater faith by those who do not have as much.

Mark 16:20 states, "And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs."

I have found that in my own life and through countless testimonies of my fellow evangelists is that the Gospel, when preached, will reap the fruit. I have also found that when you pray for the sick in faith, people get healed.

Does that mean that every person I pray for immediately manifests healing in front of me? No.

Does it mean that sometimes even people we love who are Christians or moral people still die or suffer from sickness even when they have been prayed for? Yes.

These things are all profound matters to consider, and quite frankly, without an eternal perspective, we cannot even begin to understand why some get healed and some don't.

I am 100% positive about one thing. God is good. I am also sure that He can see and understand things from an eternal point of view with the complete picture in mind stretching throughout all eternity.

We would be foolish to think we could understand or explain eternal things when we can only see a limited snapshot of time.

James 4:14 states, "Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away".

I can also guarantee that if you do not share the gospel or pray for anyone to get healed, you will never lead someone to Jesus or see the Lord use you to heal someone.

My goal is to spread the seed and the love of Jesus. The rest is up to God. The amazing thing is that He will often blow me away with what He will do when I step out in faith.

Is the Lord calling you to step out?
