Introducing the THRIVE Academy and THRIVE Venture Studio programs
|
|
We are delighted to announce the expansion of our global venture and innovation platform with the launch of two new programs: THRIVE Academy and THRIVE Venture Studio. In addition to our award winning accelerator program, these new programs will support entrepreneurs, researchers, innovators, early-stage startups and spin-outs in the agri-food technology sector.
The THRIVE Academy aims to discover, elevate and accelerate the next generation of entrepreneurs and help fastrack their startups for success. The THRIVE Venture Studio will focus on forming new companies in response to some of the most pressing issues across the agri-food value chain.

Report: Realizing the Potential for AgTech in Alberta

Advancement of agriculture starts on the farm and innovation is fundamental to help farmers produce food more efficiently. In this latest report we look at both the challenges and opportunities farmers face adopting technology and digital solutions into farm operations.
The report, which was prepared for the Government of Alberta and developed in partnership with Olds College and United Farmers of Alberta, highlights the pivotal role that Alberta’s agriculture sector can play in building economic resilience and positioning the province for a prosperous and sustainable future.

Pharm Robotics is an AgTech company on a mission to improve animal health standards globally. The system, Sureshot, automates both the data management and inoculation processes providing vaccines, repro, and trace minerals to dairy cows. This exciting new technology has received interest from dairy farmers representing about 470,000 cows globally. Sureshot is still in testing on the CEO’s dairy and the company plans to begin selling by the end of 2022. Learn more

Major partnership to deliver spray hazard warning system
The Australian grains and cotton industries have announced a $5.5 million investment to help minimize spray drift through a five-year partnership with Australian agtech company, Goanna Ag.
The investment will see the development of a spray drift hazardous weather warning system that will provide real-time weather data and alerts to growers and spray operators about the presence of temperature inversions. Learn more
